Our next event is for International Women’s Day. As the United Nations has declared 2026 the International Year of the Woman Farmer, our guest speakers will be the lovely women from North Arm Farms.
It is understood that women’s labour has been central to the success of farming but historically, in Australia, the ‘farmer’ has been viewed as a male role.
The women of North Arm Farms, Kaycee, Camilla and Nicole, will debunk this historical representation as they talk about the role they play on their own farms, in the North Arm Farms collective, and also in their broader communities.
Eight years ago, Kaycee dreamed up the idea, gathered like-minded folk, and created the well-managed North Arm Farms collective.
They will talk about how being part of this vibrant, supportive farming collective has been a big part to sustaining farm profitability and sustainability, and how, without it, their work-life balance would be a lot harder to achieve.
The women will share their passions, what drives them to continue to farm, and how they see farming, and their farming enterprises, shaping their future.
